In Akkadian mythology and Sumerian mythology, Anshar (also Anshur, Ashur, Asshur) is the sky god. He is the husband of his sister Kishar; they are the children of Lahmu and Lahamu, and are the parents of Anu. He is sometimes depicted as having Ninlil as a consort. As Anshar, he is progenitor of the Akkadian pantheon; as Ashur, he is the head of the Assyrian pantheon. Anshar led the iggigi (astronauts) in the war against Tiamat.
He is often depicted as a humanoid being with an eagles head and 4 wings.

Hope you enjoy! This is the start of a series I'll be doing on the Anunnaki pantheon. I started with the grandfather of them all...
Made using Photoshop CS2
EDITED: More true to the time period, Anshar has been given a proper Akkadian style beard.
Very cool! Makes you wonder if these guys existed or not! I think it's very likely that they did and created the human race using genetic engineering, in the past.
Actually, If you know anything about sumerian/akkadian/assyrian/babylonian mythology, it is never stated that the Anunnaki live on Nibiru.
The tablet that Sichin uses the most, 243 i believe, says nothing about space travel or anything like that. And the twelve celestial bodies on the tablet are all stars. The sumerian symbol for "Sun" looked very different than any other star symbol, so they can't be the sun and planets.
The star there cant even be the Sun, because they thought the Sun and the Moon were planets, and stars were different.
Also, the sumerians only ever knew of 5 planets. There is nothing in any sumerian text that leads us to believe that they knew of more than five.
Sichin's translations of texts and individual words are usually leaps, and have no actual basis in translation science. I wouldn't trust Sichin, because he likes to pick and choose what he likes, leaving what he doesnt, and there are claims where he doesn't cite any reference. Also, while "translating" the Dead Sea Scrolls, he thought they were in Hebrew. They aren't, it's Aramaic. If he makes that huuuuuge of a mistake, he cant be the ancient language expert he claims to be.
Believe whatever you want, guys. I'm just trying to add some balance to the discussion.
I am glad to see a masterpiece like this. I've read through four of Zechariah Sitchin's and I see you remain faithful to the literature. I often see "Nibiru" this and "Anunnaki" that and it seems to me that a lot of hear a lot of nonsense but they don't read his books. It looks "sumerian" and I think that's great. Good job
Hi Jonas! Well, a lot of what I've learned comes from Zecharia Sitchin's books. Also from various other translations of the cuneiform tablets from the Sumerian culture. There are also legends and so called myths from other cultures such as the Akkadians, Egyptians and Babylonians with information to do with the Anunnaki. For instance, kingship was passed down through Anunnaki lines. I also seem to have...hmmm...shall we say an "inner knowing" about many of these things. My opinion in a very small nutshell (since you asked!!) is that humans are the result of the genetic engineering of an existing, naturally evolving homo-erectus ape-like-man crossed in various ways with a space faring race of humanoid beings who early humans called the Anunnaki (meaning 'those who from heaven to Earth came'. First genetically engineered with Anunnaki genes, then cross bred with the resulting being and eventually becoming the homo-sapian that we know of today. There was also some other "tinkering" done with the "human race" by other space faring races resulting in our various unique human variations, but all humans today carry the Anunnaki genes. I don't believe that the Anunnaki are God either, there is a common misconception with this, as early humans venerated the Anunnaki as "gods" due to their technologies and knowledge. There is STILL a Source energy of all creation that I like to call Universe, or God if you will.
Ohh, finally a person, who has the same believes like me! I have studied this subject a long time now, and I have made the same conclusion as you There are to many proofs, that alludes The Anunnaki's existence - The Sumerian Tablets and other things like that. Do you think, They come from Nibiru - "Planet of the crossing"?
I think it's very likely that they did and created the human race using genetic engineering, in the past.
